APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for March 7-15

• Fruits and Vegetables Manual. FAVIR and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual have been revised. The reason for the revision is to notify that effective March 9, 2012, grapes from the commune of Pudahuel, Chile, require cold treatment (T107-a) in addition to methyl bromide fumigation (T101-h-2). The additional remediation measure is in effect through April 30, 2012.(03/15/12) (here)
• Miscellaneous and Processed Products Import Manual. The following changes have been made to the online version of the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Import Manual: 1) Table 3-112 Millet and pseudo-millet change: table reference in the fifth column (Then:); second cell has been corrected 2) Table 3-147 Rice—milled products change: language in footnote #3 has been corrected 3) Table 3-177 Wheat straw for decoration or articles crafted from any part of the wheat plant change: NEW language has been added to the second column (And:), second cell; language in second column (And:), last cell has been changed 4) Table 3-178 Wheat—milled products and by-products concerning bunted kernels change: new table title; NEW second column (And the product is:); rows pertaining to Russian wheat have been deleted; “couscous, germ, and groats” have been added to the first column (If the product is:); first cell; footnotes #1, #3, and #4 have been added 5) NEW Table 3-179 Wheat—milled products and by-products NOT concerning bunted kernels change: NEW table* 6) Page Glossary-4 change: the term “couscous” has been added 7) Page Glossary-6 change: the terms “germ” and “groats” have been added. • Seeds Not for Planting Manual. The Seeds Not for Planting Manual has been updated to add an approved establishment for processing screenings from Canada. The revision, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of page 3-5, is in Table 3-47. (03/12/12) (here)
• Canadian Border Agricultural Clearance Manual. The online version of the Canadian Border Agricultural Clearance Manual has been revised to add Maine Organic Milling, Inc. to the list of establishments approved for processing screenings.(03/12/12) (here)
• Animal Product Manual.
