CBP Lists 38 Vendors of Air AMS Services

Customs and Border Protection's Office of Automated Commercial Systems (ACS) said it assembled a list of companies/persons offering air Automated Manifest System (AMS) communication and data processing services to the trade community. Inclusion on the list doesn't constitute any form of an endorsement by CBP about the nature, extent or quality of the services, which may be provided, it cautioned.

The list includes two attachments: (1) contains Communication Network Providers that have the communication capability to transmit and receive AMS data. (2) software vendors who have developed software packages for handling air AMS data and have the capability to transmit and receive AMS data.

Air AMS communications sources include the use of ARINC or SITA. Network access is also available by using one of the following approved CBP communication options: Cisco VPN/MQ Series Solution via a client provisioned Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection (refer to CBP Trade VPN Recommendations document (http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/trade/automated/automated_systems/data_comm_changes/ ), or Service Center.

This list, which currently includes 38 vendors, will be updated periodically, CBP said.
