FDA Announces Voluntary Recall of Cafe-Tasse Belgian Chocolate Bars
The Food and Drug Administration announced that Café-Tasse S.A. is voluntarily recalling its 1.58 oz. Café-Tasse Noir (Dark) Belgian chocolate bar with best before date of “15 SEPT 2013” because it may contain undeclared traces of milk. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The product involved, imported by Belgium’s Chocolate Source of Wellesley, Mass., is Café-Tasse’s 1.58 oz. (45 gr.) bar with bar code of 54000219. It does not affect any other Café-Tasse chocolate bars or sizes. Under the best before date, there is also a lot code with reference L11303249. The lot code affects only a total of 11 cases of 30 bars of this product that were sold by 7 retailers and 1 distributor, all of who have been contacted. The recall was initiated by Café-Tasse in Belgium after it was discovered that product containing milk traces was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of milk traces. All remaining inventory of this item has been destroyed.
