ITA Solicits 2013 TRQ Applications for Those Who Weave Worsted Wool Fabrics
The International Trade Administration issued a notice soliciting applications from persons or firms that weave certain worsted wool fabrics in the U.S. suitable for making men's and boys' suits, suit-type jackets, or trousers for an allocation of the 2013 tariff rate quotas on certain worsted wool fabric. Applications must be received or postmarked by 5 p.m. on October 22.

(The TRQ1 provides a reduced duty rate on a limited quantity of worsted wool fabrics suitable for use in making suits, suit-type jackets, or trousers with an average fiber diameter of 18.5 microns or less (containing 85% or more by weight of wool, Harmonized Tariff Schedule subheading 9902.51.16). The TRQ for HTS 9902.51.16 is 2,000,000 square meters annually. The TRQ is in effect through 2014.)
Application Forms Due by Oct 22
In order to receive an allocation, an applicant must submit the required form to the Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA) by October 22. The form will be available (here).
ITA to Post Allocation Notice in Federal Register
The ITA states that it will publish its determination to allocate the 2013 TRQ in the Federal Register and will notify applicants of their respective allocation as soon as possible after that date.
