FY 2013 CBTPA TPLs for T-Shirts, Knit Apparel

CBP announced the fiscal year 2013 tariff preference level quantities of certain T-shirts and knit-to-shape (knit) apparel articles that are eligible to receive duty-free treatment if imported directly from any current or former Caribbean Basin Trade Partnership Act (CBTPA) beneficiary country.

TPLs Open October 1st

The opening date for these TPLs is Oct. 1, with the TPLs endings on September 30, 2013. The duty-free limits are as follows:

Apparel articles knit to shape970,000,000 SME
T-shirts12,000,000 dozen

Description of CBTPA TPLs

CBP’s memo and the HTS provide the following description of the goods subject to these CBTPA TPLs:

9820.11.12: T-shirts classifiable in HTS 6109.10.0012, 6109.10.0014, 6109.10.0040, 6109.10.0045 made in one or more designated (current or former) CBTPA beneficiary countries from fabric formed in one or more such countries from yarns wholly formed in the U.S.

CBP states that if a TPL fills, such T-shirts and apparel articles may enter at the otherwise applicable duty rate.
