Protests, motions to intervene, notices of intervention, and written comments are invited, DOE said in an Oct. 17 Federal Register notice. They should be received by Dec. 17 via fergas@hq.doe.gov or by mail to U.S. Department of Energy (FE-34), Office of Natural Gas Regulatory Activities, Office of Fossil Energy, P.O. Box 44375, Washington, DC 20026-4375. Further information: Larine Moore, 202-586-9478.

The export facilities would be integrated into the existing terminal facilities, Southern said. LNG would be received by pipeline at the Elba Island Terminal, with these pipelines having indirect access to the nationally integrated interstate pipeline grid. Southern LNG said the EP will have minimal environmental impacts given that, following construction, the export facilities will be located within the previously authorized footprint of the existing Elba Island Terminal.
