NAFTA Panel to Review Duties on Chicken Parts Imported into Mexico
At the request of Sanderson Farms, Inc., a North American Free Trade Agreement panel review was launched on countervailing duties on the import into Mexico of chicken leg quarters from the U.S., according to a Federal Register notice scheduled for Dec. 5. The request was filed with the Mexican Section of the NAFTA Secretariat pursuant to Article 1904 of the North American Free Trade Agreement. The NAFTA Secretariat assigned Case Number MEX-USA-2012-1904-01 to the review.

The panel review is limited to the allegations of error of fact or law, including the jurisdiction of the investigating authority, that are set out in the Complaints filed in panel review and the procedural and substantive defenses raised in the panel review, the notice said.
Separately, a Binational Panel granted a joint motion filed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the ThyssenKrupp Mexinox S.A. de C.V. and Mexinox USA, Inc. to dismiss the panel review concerning the Department of Commerce's final determination concerning Stainless Steel Sheet and Strip in Coils from Mexico, effective Nov. 29 (here).
