CBP Wants Comment on Extending CES Application Form
CBP is seeking comment on an information collection requirement on the Application to Establish a Centralized Examination Station, it said in a Federal Register notice scheduled for Jan. 11. When a CBP port director decides the port needs one or more Centralized Examination Stations (CES), the director solicits applications to operate a CES, including information to be used to determine the suitability of the applicant's facility, the fairness of fee structure, and knowledge of cargo handling operations and of CBP procedures. The proposal is to extend the expiration date of the application form, with no changes to the burden hours or to the information collected. CBP estimates 50 respondents will spend an average of two hours each, for a total burden of 100 hours.
