APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Jan. 29

Animal Product Manual: The following changes were made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the individual page and table numbers below.

Chapter 3-11 Foreign Origin Meat and Meat Products, Poultry

• Table 3-11-2 Where to Find the Final Regulatory Action to Take When VS Permit Does NOT Authorize Entry - language was added to the second column (And the meat or meat products are:), second cell and footnote #1
• Page 3-11-3 - language was added in the heading "Bouillon Cubes, Broth Containing Poultry, Meat Extract, Powdered Chicken Meat, and Dehydrated Powders or Granules of Poultry Origin, the Important Notice, and the paragraph following the Important Notice
• Table 3-11-11 Bouillon Cubes of Poultry Origin, Broth Containing Poultry, Meat Extract of Poultry Origin, Powdered Chicken Meat, and Dehydrated Powders or Granules of Poultry Origin - table title was changed; a bullet point was added in the first column (If:), first cell; and language was added to footnote #1

Chapter 3-12 Foreign Origin Meat and Meat Products, Ruminants

• Page 3-12-1 - chapter table of contents was updated
• Page 3-12-2 - language was corrected after the "Introduction" and "Subsidiary Locator" headings; language was added to the Important Notice
• Table 3-12-1 Where to Find Regulatory Action on Ruminant Meat and Meat Products - language in first two cells of the firs column (If:) was deleted; second to last row was added to the table; language was added to the first column (If:), last cell (page 1 of table) and to footnote #1
• Page 3-12-5 - heading title was corrected; language was added to the Important Notice
• Table 3-12-2 Ruminant Extract and Bone Stock, Bouillon Cubes, Dehydrated Powders or Granules, or Dehydrated Soup Mix Flavored with Ruminant Extract or Bone Stock - table title was changed; first two bullets in the first column (If:), first cell were corrected and the last bullet was added; language was added to footnote #1

Chapter 3-13 Foreign Origin Meat and Meat Products, Swine

• Page 3-13-1 - chapter table of contents was updated
• Page 3-13-3 - language was added to the Important Notice
• Table 3-13-1 Swine Meat and Meat Products, and Meat By-Products - bullet was added to the second column (And the importation is:), first cell; language was added to footnote #1
• Page 3-13-6 - heading title was changed and language was added to the Important Notice
• Table 3-13-2 Bouillon Cubes, Meat Extract of Swine Origin, Dehydrated Powders or Granules of Swine Origin, and Dehydrated Soup Mixes Containing Swine Meat Extract - a bullet was added to the first column (If the importation is:), first cell; language was added to footnote #1

Chapter 3-15 Miscellaneous Products

• Page 3-15-1 - chapter table of contents was updated; a bullet was added under the "Introduction" heading
• Table 3-15-2 Determine Where to Find the Regulatory Action on Miscellaneous Products NOT Authorized by a Permit - a table link to Table 3-15-20 was added
• NEW Table 3-15-20 Human Food Products That Are Dehydrated Powders or Granules - table was added

Glossary

• Page Glossary-1-7 - "Bulk/bulk shipment" was added
• Page Glossary-1-15 - "Dehydrate/dehydrated/dehydration" was added
• Page Glossary-1-38 - "Ruminant extract" was added

Links contained throughout the manual in the Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, and Index as well as internal and external cross-references and hyperlinks were all updated as necessary.
