APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Feb. 20

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Feb. 20 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes were made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the individual table number below.

Appendix H List of Veterinarians

  • Table H-1-4 List of VS-AVIC - contact information for Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, and Louisiana was corrected

Links contained throughout the manual in the Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, and Index as well as internal and external cross-references and hyperlinks were updated as necessary.

List of Approved Pelargonium Facilities: The list of Approved Pelargonium Facilities authorized to export Pelargonium cuttings to the U.S. (here) was updated to add a new facility for Kenya. Revisions are identified by a black change bar in the left margin of the revised page.

Manual for Agricultural Clearance: The online Manual for Agricultural Clearance (here) was revised to update the sample letter to notify a firm or company that a violation was issued to an employee or crew member. Changes indicated by black change bars in the left page margin are on page C-1-3 of Appendix C: Sample Letters and Statements.
