APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for March 8

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes March 8 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Treatment Manual: The Treatment Manual (here) was updated. There were two reasons for the update:

  • Revised treatment schedule T301-e (page 5-4-8) [Docket No. APHIS-2012-0040: Notice of Affirmation of Addition of a Treatment Schedule for Methyl Bromide Fumigation of Cottonseed Effective March 6, 2013]
  • Revised Appendix E-List of Approved Treatment Facilities

Animal Product Manual: The following changes were made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed below.

Appendix H List of Veterinarians

  • Throughout appendix - appendix was reorganized and FORMER Table H-1-4 was deleted and replaced with text
  • Table H-1-2 List of PPQ-AQI-VMOs - Dr. Kral's contact information was updated
