BIS Denies Export Privileges to Three Tampa Companies and Individuals in New York, Florida

All three companies and the individual are located in Tampa, Florida, and were convicted in October 2012 of violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) and Iranian Transactions Regulations by exporting computer and related equipment from the U.S. through the United Arab Emirates to Iran without a license. The companies were each sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation and a $400 fine. All are denied export privileges until Oct. 18, 2022.
The Bureau also denied export privileges to Richard Phillips, currently an inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution in Ray Brook, N.Y., until June 21, 2022 (here). Last June, Phillips was convicted of knowingly, intentionally and willfully attempting to export, reexport, sell and supply, directly and indirectly, a spindle of carbon fiber from the U.S. to Iran without a license. He was sentenced to 92 months in prison, plus three years supervised release and a $100 fine.
