CBP Updates ACE Priorities Backlog in April ACEopedia
CBP updated its list of its near and longer term priorities for development of the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) in the April ACEopedia, a monthly CBP publication that provides updates on ACE progress. The agency document said work on three items, the Participating Government Agency (PGA) Message Set, corrections/deletions, and initial entry summary validations, will be completed by May 7. Those features, previously mentioned to be priorities, make up the first increment of its CBP's "agile" pilot programs.

During the second increment, which lasts from May through Aug. 6, CBP will focus on PGA integration, simplified entry expansion, and other validations, according to the ACE development roadmap. CBP will also continue to work on the re-engineering of the Automated Export System, it said. CBP also revised its list of items on the prioritized ACE products backlog.
The next items on the backlog list are:
- Simplified entry expansion (splits)
- Duty Calculations
- ACE Accounts (mostly small changes to existing code)
- ACE Entry Summary (mostly small changes to existing code)
- Statements
- Single Transaction Bonds
CBP said it plans to release Federal Register notice "in the near future" to announce an expansion of the DIS pilot. That notice will mean "a significant reduction in the metadata for trade users to transmit documents to DIS, transmission of annual permits, certificates and licenses, expansion of eligible participants to include software providers submitting documents on behalf of importers or brokers who are ACE entry summary filers," and the addition of several newly support forms, said CBP.
