Deringer to Use Kewill Customs Platform
Customs broker A.N. Deringer signed an agreement with Kewill to transition to Kewill Customs' technology platform, Kewill said July 30. Kewill called Kewill Customs “a next generation customs brokerage solution” that will offer “enhanced visibility, functionality, and robust ad hoc reporting capabilities to service both Deringer and its clients.” Sandy Mayotte, senior vice president of Deringer, said Kewill Customs’ platform design was easy to use, resulting in less time training logistics professionals to use the system “so that they can dedicate more time to renewing files and ensuring compliance for customers.

The platform will enable Deringer to keep pace with CBP’s rapidly changing regulatory environment, including enhancements to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) compliance curve, said Amy Magnus, Deringer director-customs affairs and compliance. Krewill said the platform is also complemented by a “powerful” and “elegant” document imaging solution that will “accommodate the rapid transmissions of documents to CBP.” The imaging system will allow both CBP and participating government agencies “increased visibility,” which could assist them in their decision-making process, release shipments more quickly, or satisfy “their concerns with a document review in lieu of a costly physical exam.”
