APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Aug. 5

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Aug. 5 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes were made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed below:

  • Throughout the manual: references to "TTSPS" or "Technical Trade Services Product Staff" were replaced with "Animal Products Import Staff"

Chapter 2-2 Procedures

  • Page 2-2-4 - language was added to the final bullet after the "Animal Product/Animal By-Product On Hold Shipment Release Request" heading

Appendix H Veterinarians

  • Table H-1-3 VS-Animal Products Import Staff - staffing information was updated as needed
