APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Aug. 9

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Aug. 9 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables Manual: FAVIR (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) were revised. There were several reasons for the revision:

  • Pakistan mango: consolidated the import requirements (manual page 3-252)
  • Uruguay citrus: added sweet orange, Unshu orange, tangerine/clementine/mandarin to the list of admissible commodities )manual pages 3-336 and 3-337) [Docket No. APHIS-2011-0060, effective August 09, 2013]
