- New Tariff relief for Canadian consumers. The Harper Government announced August 7, 2013 that it has contracted Nielson to monitor the savings for Canadian consumers through the new tariff relief measures that removed tariffs on imported baby clothes, certain sports equipment and is projected to save business $79 million per year. - Import/export control changes to forms for Agricultural products. The DFAIT has announced that changes have been made to it’s Agricultural product forms used to apply for allocations under the tariff rate quotas and export quotas. (here)
- Canada-U.S. perimeter approach to plant protection. The CFIA and United States Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) have announced that they are seeking feedback from stakeholders regarding the agencies work on regulatory cooperation and aligning their polices for the safe and efficient trade in plants and plant products between the countries.
