APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Sept. 17
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Sept. 17 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Approved Phalaenopsis Facilities List: The list of Approved Phalaenopsis in Growing Media Facilities (here) was updated, transmittal 09/2013-19, to remove and to add some facilities. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the margin of each revised page, are as follows:
Page 5: Deleted greenhouse no. 70-PS-062-02 Page 6: Added Well Done Orchids, 70-PS-087 and greenhouse 70-PS-087-01; deleted greenhouse no. 50-PS-001-01 from Taida Horticultural Co. Ltd. Page 7: Deleted greenhouse no. 70-PS-021-01 from Yusa Farm
Plants for Planting Manual: The Plants for Planting Manual (here) was updated, transmittal 09/2013-22, to update the treatment requirement for seeds of Vicia spp. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin, are on pages 4-499 through 4-501.
Approved Phytophthora Facilities List: The list of approved Approved Facilities for Hosts of Phytophthora ramorum (here) was updated, transmittal 09/2013-04, to remove all but four facilities and to add two new facilities by registry number.
