Census Discusses AES Fatal Error Response Codes 545, 547
The Census Bureau sent out AES Broadcast #2013079 as part of a series of monthly educational broadcast messages on fatal errors in the Automated Export System. This month Census is highlighting AES error codes 545 (BIS License Number Unknown) and 547 (BIS License Number Missing). Fatal Error Response Code 545: BIS License Number Unknown
Reason: The License Code/ License Exemption Code reported indicates a Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) license number is required and the License Number reported is not valid in AES.
Resolution: The License Number must be reported and valid in AES for a BIS licensable shipment. Verify the License Number, correct the shipment and resubmit.
Fatal Error Response Code 547: BIS License Number Missing
Reason: The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) exemption code is missing.
Resolution: A License Code/ License Exemption Code must be reported on every shipment. Verify the License Code/ License Exemption Code, correct the shipment and resubmit.
