APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Oct. 7

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Oct. 7 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables Manual: FAVIR (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) were revised. The reason for the revision was to add: New market access for fresh oranges and tangerines from Egypt. (Docket APHIS-2012-0053 effective August 16, 2013) (NOTE: At this time, import permits will not be issued. Until program phytosanitary requirements are finalized the commodities will not be authorized entry into the United States.)
