APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Oct. 24
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Oct. 24 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Puerto Rico and USVI Manual: The USDA APHIS PPQ Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands Manual (here) was updated. The reason for the change was to add sapote (Pouteria sapota) to the list of admissible commodities. [Docket No. APHIS-2013-0017, effective October 24, 2013] Changes, located on page 3-6, are indicated by a black change bar in the left margin.
