APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Nov. 21
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Nov. 21 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables Manual: FAVIR (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) were revised. There were several reasons for the revisions:
- Add swiss chard to the list of admissible commodities from Colombia (Docket APHIS-2013-0052 effective November 20, 2013)
- Add a new papaya orchard to the list of approved orchards in Chiapas Mexico
Postentry Quarantine Manual: The following change was made to the Postentry Quarantine Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information:
- Appendix A Directory of PPQ Postentry Quarantine Liaison Officers (PEQLOs) - information for Iowa point of contact has been updated
