APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Nov. 27
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Nov. 27 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Approved Prunus Facilities: The list of Approved Plum Pox Susceptible Prunus Facilities (here) was updated, 11/2013-02, to remove all previously-listed facilities and to add one new facility.
PPQ Identifiers and Specialists: The List of Identifiers and National Specialists (here) was updated, 11/2013-02, to reflect current taxonomy. Revisions are as follows:
- Page 21: Deleted Homoptera and added Hemiptera; placed in alphabetical order by scientific name and added common names
- Page 22: Placed in reportable URGENT insects and mites in alphabetical order by scientific name
- Page 25: Added Sternorrhyncha to Hemiptera
