APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Dec. 6
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Dec. 6 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Pelargonium Export Facilities: The list of Approved Pelargonium spp. Cuttings Facilities that are authorized to export Pelargonium spp. cuttings to the United States (here) was updated, 12/2013-14. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar on each revised page, are as follows:
- Page 1: Added an authorized facility in Guatemala
- Page 2: Changed the certification end date for the three facilities in Mexico and changed an address
Plants for Planting Manual: The Plants for Planting Manual (here) was updated, 12/2013-24, to add Gaultheria procumbens to the list of those plant species that are regulated to prevent the spread and dissemination of Phytophthora ramorum. Federal Order DA-2013-41. Seeds are not included. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar on the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:
- Page 2-26: Added Gaultheria procumbens to the list of host material for Phytophthora ramorum
- Page 4-206: Added Gaultheria procumbens, all propagules except seeds, to the list of regulated propagative material
- Page 4-228: Added a synonym to Howea spp.
Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual: The following changes were made to the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The individual changes are listed below.
- Table 3-3 Allium spp. - language has been added to the second column (And:), second cell
- Table 3-68 Corn--Job's tears or adlay millet and other millets - misspelling has been corrected in footnote #1
