APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Dec. 24

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Dec. 24 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables Manual: The Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) and the FAVIR database (here) were updated. The reason for the update was to revise the import requirements for fresh blueberries from Chile. [Federal Order DA-2013-56]

Treatment Manual: The USDA APHIS PPQ Treatment Manual (here) was revised. The reason for the change was to add Lobesia botrana (European grapevine moth) to the pest list for treatment schedules T101-i-1-1 and T101-i-1-2. [Federal Order DA-2013-56]
