APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Jan. 7
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Jan. 7 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

CITES Timber Manual: The CITES Timber Species Manual (here) was updated, 01/2014-34, to add designated CITES staff names and to change the fax number for the designated CITES Port in North Charleston, South Carolina. The changes are on page 5-5.
State Phytosanitary Program Manual: The Federally Recognized State Managed Phytosanitary Program Manual (here) was revised to do the following:
- Update the list of Figures
- Add steps for completing a FRSMP program petition to Chapter 3
- Update the USDA/APHIS National Plant Board FRSMP Petition Template
Revisions, indicated by black change bars in the left page margins, are on the following pages:

- Chapter 3: Procedures: Pages 3-1 and 3-2.
- Appendix A: Forms: Pages A-2 and A-3.
