APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Jan. 9
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Jan. 9 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual: The following changes were made to the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The individual changes are listed below.
- Page 3-113 Frozen Fruit and Vegetables section - language in the introductory paragraph has been rewritten.
Golden Nematode Manual: The Golden Nematode Program Manual (here) was revised to update general pest information. Changes, indicated by black change bars in the left page margin, are on page 2-1-4 of Chapter 2: Procedures: Section 1: Introduction.
FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables Manual: The Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) and the FAVIR database (here) were updated. The reason for the update was to revise the import requirements for fresh blueberries from Chile. [Federal Order DA-2014-03] Changes in the manual are on page 3-68.
Treatment Manual: The USDA APHIS PPQ Treatment Manual (here) was revised. The reason for the change was to add a treatment schedule, T101-i-1-3, to treat Lobesia botrana (European grapevine moth) on blueberry [Federal Order DA-2014-03]. Changes, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin, are on pages 2-3-4 and 5-2-9.
