APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Jan. 14

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Jan. 14 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

CITES Timber Manual: The CITES I-II-III Timber Species Manual (here) was updated, 01/2014-35, to change the address of CITES designated staff in Wisconsin. The revision, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin, is on page 5-6.

PPQ Identifiers and Specialists: The List of PPQ Identifiers, Co-lateral and National Specialists (here) was updated, 01/2014-12, to change identifiers' contact information. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin, are on the following pages:

  • Page 3: Added new fax number for the Charleston, South Carolina entomologist
  • Page 13: Added new phone numbers for the Ponce, Puerto Rico entomologist

Almeria Pepper Greenhouses: The list of approved pepper greenhouses (here) in Almeria Province, Spain was updated.
