APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Jan. 17
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Jan. 17 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables Manual: The Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) and the FAVIR (here) database were updated. The reason for the update was to revise the import requirements for fresh blueberries from Chile. [Federal Order DA-2014-04] Changes in the manual are on page 3-68.
Manual for Agricultural Clearance: The Manual for Agricultural Clearance (here) was revised to do the following:
- Remove PPQ Form 252-R, Quarterly Inspection Checklist for Handling of Regulated Garbage—Airport Caterer, from Appendix A. This form was discontinued. The example of PPQ Form 252-R, which appeared on page A-1-79, was removed. Subsequent figures in Appendix A have been renumbered and the List of Figures has been updated.
- Update contact information for the Plant Inspection Station in El Segundo, CA. The change, indicated by a black change bar in the left page margin, is on page L-1-2.
