APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for May 8

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes May 8 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual: The following changes have been made to the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information. The individual changes are listed below.

Chapter 3 Reference

  • Table 3-107 Coffee (Coffea spp.) plant parts (NOT including roasted beans) - table title has been changed; "roasted beans" row has been deleted; NEW footnote #1 has been added to the table

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. Specific changes are listed below.

Chapter 2-2 Procedures Clearing Regulated Cargo

  • Table 2-2-10 Action to Take When a Consignment is NOT Eligible for Entry - (page 2 of 2) language in footnote #3 has been changed

Chapter 2-3 Procedures Clearing Regulated Passenger Baggage

  • Page 2-3-15 through end of chapter - all Customs Form 6059, Customs Declaration examples have been deleted

Chapter 3-2 Avian Products

  • Table 3-2-12 Poultry Meat and Meat Products When VS Permit Does NOT Authorize Entry - fourth and tenth cells in the last column (Then:) have been changed to "REFER to FSIS"

Chapter 3-14 Milk Products

  • Table 3-14-10 Canned, Shelf-Stable Products Containing Milk Products AND Meat - (page 1 of 2) avian row has been added to beginning of the table

Chapter 3-17 Ruminant Products
