APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for June 6
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes June 6 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

PPQ Identifiers and Specialists: The standalone List of PPQ Identifiers and National Specialists (here) was updated, 06/2014-14, to change the procedures for submitting Routine and Prompt interceptions of Aleyrodidae and Diaspididae for identification and to update the list of identifiers. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar, are on the following pages:
- 15: Deleted the San Francisco entomologist's name and phone number and replaced with Vacant and TBA
- 24: Deleted the separate entry for Routine & Prompts Hemiptera:Sternorrhyncha:Coccoidea: Aleyrodidae and Diaspididae only (previously sent to John Dooley in San Francisco, CA)
- 24: Deleted "except Aleyrodidae and Diaspididae" from the remaining Routine and Prompts Hempitera:Sternorrhyncha:Coccoidea row and added "all interceptions including Aleyrodidae and Diaspididae" (now sent to Gregory Evans in Beltsville, MD)
