Senior status allows judges that are over 65 and have served on the court for a set period of time (10-15 years) to retire, but still receive their full salary in return for part-time work. Senior status judges have to perform the equivalent of three months’ worth (or about a quarter) of a normal judge’s workload in order to qualify. Current senior judges at CIT include Judges Thomas Aquilino, Nicholas Tsoucalas, Kenton Musgrave, Richard Goldberg, and Judith Barzilay.
