APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for July 8

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes July 8 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

CITES Timber Manual: The CITES I-II-III Timber Species Manual (here) has been updated, 07/2014-38, to revise the list of CITES Designated Ports. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:

  • Page 5-5: Deleted the names of previous and added the names of current CITES designated staff at Charlotte, and Wilmington, North Carolina
  • Page 5-7: Deleted the name of previous CITES designated staff at Seattle, Washington and added Vacant
