APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for July 10

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes July 10 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Miscellaneous and Processed Products: The following changes have been made to the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information:

Chapter 3 Reference

  • Table 3-167 Wood chips or bark chips NOT meeting universal importation options - language has been changed in the third cell in the third column (And:)
  • Table 3-168 Wood chips or bark chips NOT meeting universal importation options containing free water or >15% water staining or fructification - language has been changed in the first cell in the first column (If the chips are:)
  • Table 3-173 Bark and other wood material to be used for compost (humus, litter, and wood mulch) - on page 1 of 2 language has been changed in the third and fifth cells in the third column (And:); on page 2 of 2 language has been changed in the first cell in the third column (And:)
