  • Pilot project for the Travelers in Remote Areas. The CBSA has released Customs Notice 14-017 which outlines and explains about the Pilot Project for the Travelers in Remote Areas- Quebec (PPTRA-Q) which will facilitate the entry of travelers and commercial drivers into Canada along the Quebec/Maine border allowing for telephone reporting at land borders at specified hours.   • Express Entry stakeholder meeting. The Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Chris Alexander met with stakeholders and business leaders regarding the new proposed January 2015 launch of Express Entry which is a more effective way for Canada to approve skilled economic immigrants into the country.   • China certain thermoelectric containers. The CBSA announced it is accepting all reply submissions from all parties in respect to the reinvestigation into the dumping and subsidizing of certain thermoelectric containers originating in or exported from China. (here)
  • Product Recalls. Ameco Paradisio recalls polo pajamas manufactured in India (here), Bollinger Fitness recalls Resistance Bands manufactured in China and Taiwan (here)
