The U.S. is expected to reach 41 million connections this year, it said, driven by advances in the automotive, utilities, and oil and gas sectors. The U.S. M2M market is still in its early stages of development and needs to address significant challenges to fulfill its potential, GSMA said. The market lacks standardization, and there is little cooperation between the private and public sectors in many parts of the M2M economy, it said.
