APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Oct. 30

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Oct. 30 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables Manual: The FAVIR database (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) have been updated. The reason for the update was to clarify the language for blueberries from Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Morocco, Peru, South Africa, and Uruguay. No import requirements were changed. Changes in the manual are located on pages 3-20, 3-41, 3-76, 3-100, 3-132, 3-218, 3-250, 3-289, and 3-325.

State Phytosanitary Program Manual: The Federally Recognized State Managed Phytosanitary Program Manual (here) has been revised to update Appendix A by replacing the USDA/APHIS National Plant Board FRSMP Petition Template with a USDA/APHIS National Plant Board FRSMP Petition Worksheet. Revisions, indicated by black change bars in the left page margins, are on the following pages: Appendix A: Forms, Worksheets, and Templates: Pages A-1 through A-3.
