APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Nov. 4
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Nov. 4 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Approved Phytophthora Facilities: The list of Approved Hosts of Phytophthora ramorum Facilities (here) has been updated, 11/2014-10, to add newly-approved facility numbers.
Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections:
Chapter 2-1 Procedures
- Page 2-1-3 under Veterinary Services (APHIS-VS) heading - VS-NIES language has been added in the second paragraph
- Table 2-1-1 Determine Where to Refer Questions in VS - VS-NIES language has been added throughout the table
Chapter 2-4 Procedures--Special Procedures
- Page 2-4-2 under Certifying Animal Products and By-Products for Export/Introduction heading - VS-NIES language has been added
- Table 2-4-1 Determine if PPQ Can Certify the Export Product - VS-NIES language has been added throughout the table and in footnote #2
- Page 2-4-5 under Certifying Nonanimal Products for Export/USDA Letterhead Certification heading - VS-NIES language has been added
