APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Jan. 5
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Jan. 5 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed below.
Appendix A Guide to Entry Status of Animal Products in Passenger Baggage or Mail
- Page A-1-18 under HPAI heading - "Canada (Primary Control Zone within the Province of British Columbia)" has been added to list; footnote #2 "Canada (Primary Control Zone within the Province of British Columbia)" has been added
- Table A-1-10 Guide to Entry Status of Animal Products in Passenger Baggage or Mail - footnote indicator #3 has been added to "Canada" entry; statuses for Poultry/Eggs under "Canada" entry have been changed; footnote #3 has been changed
Appendix C List of Foreign Countries and Their Disease Status
- Page C-1-2 under HPAI heading - Primary Control Zone language has been added to "Canada (Province of British Columbia)"; footnote #2 Primary Control Zone language has been added to "Canada (Province of British Columbia)"
- Page C-1-18 footnote #2 - Primary Control Zone language has been added to "Canada (Province of British Columbia)"
Canadian Border Manual: The Canadian Border Agricultural Clearance Manual (here) has been revised to update the list of Laboratories Authorized to Issue Seed Analysis Certificates by doing the following:
- Adding 20/20 Seed Labs Inc. Winnipeg to the list
- Updating the address for Parkland Laboratories
Changes, indicated by black change bars in the left page margin, are on pages D-1 and D-3 of Appendix D: Approved Establishments.
