APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Jan. 12
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Jan. 12 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections:
Chapter 3-2 Avian Products
- Primary Control Zone in BC Canada - language has been added to the following pages: 3-2-2; 3-2-4; 3-2-6; 3-2-11; 3-2-16; 3-2-18; 3-2-20; 3-2-22; 3-2-23; 3-2-32; 3-2-34; 3-2-36; and 3-2-39
- Page 3-2-8 under Edible Eggs and Egg Products heading - language in Notice Table has been changed
- Table 3-2-6 Edible Eggs and Egg Products - footnote #1 indicator has been added to the first cell of the first column (If the product originated in:); NEW footnote #1
- Table 3-2-8 Fresh, Unfertilized Eggs (page 1 of 3) - new language has been added in the first cell of the first column
- Table 3-2-11 Poultry Meat and Meat Products When VS Permit Does NOT Authorize Entry (page 2 of 2) - direction in the eighth cell of the last column (Then:) has been changed
- Table 3-2-13 Poultry and Fowl Cooked Meat or Meat Products - footnote indicator #3 has been added to the second cell of the third column (And the importation is from:); NEW footnote #3
- Table 3-2-16 Perishable Poultry Pate AND the Pate Also Contains Pork or Pork Products of Lard (Rendered Fat) ONLY - footnote indicator #3 has been added to the first cell of the second column (And the importation is from:); NEW footnote #3
- Table 3-2-17 Perishable Poultry Pate AND the Pate Also Contains Pork or Pork Products (Including Unrendered Fat) OTHER THAN Lard (page 2 of 3) - footnote indicator #7 has been added to the fourth cell of the fourth column (And the importation is from:); NEW footnote #7

- Table 3-2-20 Dehydrated (Dry) Soup Mixes Containing Pieces and Chunks and/or Fat of Poultry - NEW third column (And the importation is from:) and accompanying content has been added
- Table 3-2-21 Smoked or Cured Poultry and Fowl Meat or Meat Products - footnote indicator #5 has been added to the fifth cell of the third column (And the importation is from:); NEW footnote #5

Chapter 3-20 Trophies
- Page 3-20-16 under Poultry, Game Bird, or Other Trophy Bird Carcasses or Trophy Tissue With or Without Skin, Flesh, or Sinew, and NOT Fully Taxidermy Finished heading - section heading title has been changed; language in the first paragraph has been changed
