APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Feb. 18
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Feb. 18 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections:
Chapter 3-2 Avian Products
- Table 3-2-17 Perishable Poultry Pate AND the Pate Also Contains Pork or Pork Products (Including Unrendered Fat) OTHER THAN Lard (page 3 of 3) - footnote numbering has been corrected
Chapter 3-5 Casings
- Page 3-5-3 under Certification heading - text has been deleted from the last bullet on the page
Appendix A Guide to Entry Status of Animal Products in Passenger Baggage or Mail
- Page A-1-18 under HPAI heading - Australia has been deleted from the list of coutnries; footnote #2, Australia has been deleted
- Table A-1-10 Guide to Entry Status of Animal Products in Passenger Baggage or Mail (page 2 of 9) - in Australia row, footnote indicator #3 has been deleted and Poultry/Eggs columns have been changed to "E"; (page 9 of 9) change footnote #4, Australia has been deleted
Appendix C List of Foreign Countries and Their Disease Status
- Page C-1-2 under HPAI heading - Australia has been deleted from the list of countries; footnote #2, Australia has been deleted
- Table C-1-1 Foreign Countries and Their Disease Status (page 2 of 15) - Australia row, fourth column (Disease Status Affected with:) HPAI has been deleted; (page 15 of 15) - footnote #2, Australia has been deleted
