FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables: The FAVIR database (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) have been updated. The reason for the update is to revise the import requirements for peppers, apples, and citrus from Guyana (Federal Order DA-2015-05 (here), effective March 11, 2015). Due to the presence of Carambola fruit fly (Bactrocera carambolae) in Guyana, consignments of apples, peppers, and citrus are prohibited entry into the United States. Import permits will not be issued. Changes in the manual are on page 3-138.
