APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for March 20
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes March 20 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Plants for Planting: The Plants for Planting Manual (here) has been updated, 03/2015-34, to add information on propagative plant material entering from Canada. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:
- Page 2-6, Table 2-1: Deleted nursery stock and added plants for planting
- Page 2-12: Revised first paragraph; added second paragraph; and added plants not of Canadian origin entering from Canada
- Page 4-193: Deleted genus and added species under requirements or authority for Fabaceae
CITES Timber Species: The CITES Timber Species Manual (here) has been updated, 03/2015-43, to add newly-listed Dalbergia calycina, Dalbergia cubilquitzensis, Dalbergia glomerata; to revise the list of designated plant inspection stations CITES staff; to add CBP AI CITES port contacts; and to make formatting changes. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:
- Pages 2-7 and 3-6: Added Dalbergia calycina, Dalbergia cubilquitzensis, Dalbergia glomerata, and Dalbergia tucerensis national populations of Guatemala listed as CITES Appendix III (Dalbergia tucerensis was already listed by Nicaragua);
- Pages 2-15: Added regulated articles of Dalbergia calycina imports;
- Pages 2-16: Added regulated articles of Dalbergia cubilquitzensis imports;
- Page 2-18: Added regulated articles of Dalbergia glomerata imports;
- Pages 2-19 and 3-18: Added Yucatan rosewood to Dalbergia tucerensis imports;
- Pages 2-26: Added cross-references to CBP AI Contacts for CITES-related matters;
- Pages 2-62, 2-63: Added documents required for Dalbergia calycina imports;
- Pages 2-64-2-65: Added documents required for Dalbergia cubilquitzensis imports;
- Pages 2-68, 2-69:Added documents required for Dalbergia glomerata imports;
