Hashimoto Shokuryo Kogyo Co. Ltd. exported food to the U.S. despite not having a valid food canning establishment registration on file. Although the company had registered with FDA, the registration was invalidated after a letter mailed by FDA to the listed was returned undeliverable, said the agency. FDA also found food-safety related violations of low-acid canned food regulations during an inspection in September, it said. As a result, FDA may assess fees on Haishimoto’s U.S. agent for costs related to any reinspection to verify compliance, it said.
