- Canadian Prime Minister to meet with President of the Philippines. The Prime Minister Stephen Harper today announced he will be meeting with the Philippine President Benigno Aquino III to discuss expanding trade and investment as well as ways to further the countries cooperation on security issues. - New Trade Advisor to be created to expand agri-food sector in China. The Government of Ontario has announced it has created a new trade advisor position to help expand the agri-food sector into the Chinese market. (here)
- Canada-United States preclearance agreement tabled in Parliament. Government officials in Canada’s Parliament announced they have tabled the preclearance agreement between the Government of Canada and the United States which will provide a legal framework for the establishment of new preclearance operations in land, rail, marine and air transport in both countries.
