  • CFIA to test corn for livestock imported from India. The CFIA has announced it will begin testing corn imported from India intended for livestock for high levels aflatoxin. (here)
  • Canadian Government launches Market Development Program. The Canadian Government announced the launch of a Market Development Program aimed at expanding market share for agriculture, agri-food and seafood industries to access new markets for their products. (here)
  • Canada-Guinea sign Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPA). The Minister of International Trade Ed Fast has announced that Canada and Guinea have signed a Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement. The FIPA is aimed at ensuring fair treatment for their investors as well as working on ways to boost investment. (here)
  • Canada-Turks and Caicos Islands working group. The Minister of Foreign Affairs David Anderson and the Minister of Control and Labor Ricardo Don Hue Gardiner from Turks and Caicos met in Ottawa to attend the Bilateral Working Group, which was established to create areas were the countries could work together.   • Canada balance of international payments. Statistics Canada is reporting that Canada’s current account deficit expanded in the first quarter by $4.4 billion to $17.5 billion. Canadian investments abroad also slowed in the first quarter as well totaling $62.1 billion. (here)
  • Canadian Diamonds exported and returned. The CBSA has announced that it has released Memorandum D10-14-39 which outlines and explains the provisions of tariff item 9813-00.00 governing how diamonds are exported and returned. (here)
  • NAFTA requirements for the duty drawback and duties relief programs. The CBSA has released Memorandum D7-4-3 which outlines and explains the provisions for duty drawback and duty relief programs for NAFTA. (here)
