  • CFIA and USDA APHIS plan released for plant health. The CFIA and the U.S. Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service have announced a plan to continue to advance a perimeter approach to plant protection to protect Canada and the U.S. from invasive species and pests. (here)
  • Worldwide Open Data Conference to generate exports. The International Open Data Conference was held in Ottawa and highlighted how open data can be used to tap into innovation, job creation and economic expansion for Canadian businesses. (here)
  • Peace Bridge summer improvement projects to not impact traffic. The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority (PBA) announced that the $167 million plan to widen the bridge to four lanes, redeck the span and install a scenic overlook will have no impact on bridge traffic in 2015 and 2016.   • Iron cross blister beetles in imported prepackaged leafy vegetables. The CFIA has announced that it is conducting an investigation into the presence of Iron Cross Blister beetles in imported leafy vegetables following recent consumer complaints on prepackaged salads. (here)
