APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for July 13

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes July 13 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Miscellaneous and Processed Products: The following changes have been made to the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information:

Chapter 3 Reference

  • Table 3-51 Wheat straw for decoration or articles crafted from ANY part of the wheat plant - Armenia and Tunisia have been added to the second cell of the second column (And the country of origin is:); Mexico has been deleted from the same cell
  • Table 3-109 Cotton (Gossypium spp.) - NEW fourth column (And:) has been added; information regarding gin trash/waste, lint and linter, and fuzzy cottonseed has been added in NEW fourth column; instructions have been added in fifth column (Then:); NEW footnotes #1, 2, 3, and 4 have been added
