APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for July 21

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes July 21 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

USDA APHIS PPQ Treatment Manual: There were several reasons for the update. The following treatment schedules have been revised (here):

  • T101-b-1, T110, T203-p-3, T203-p-4, T521 (APHIS Docket 13-009-2, effective July 21, 2015) (pages 5-2-4, 5-2-31, 5-2-94, 5-2-95, 5-3-20, 5-3-21, and 5-6-14)
  • T101-i-2-2 (APHIS Docket 15-007-2, effective July 21) (page 5-2-31)
  • T107-a and T107-d (error correction) (pages 5-2-82 and 5-2-84)
  • T101-i-2-1 (error correction) (page 5-2-31)

Information has been added to the following chapters:

  • 02-08 Fumigants, Methyl Bromide, Special Procedures for Container Fumigation Without a Tarpaulin (pages 2-8-3 and 2-8-4)
  • 03-03 Heat, Hot Water Immersion Treatment (pages 3-3-2 and 3-3-15)
  • 03-04 Heat, Steam Treatments (page 3-4-1)
  • 03-07 Cold Treatment (page 3-7-21)
