APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Aug. 26
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Aug. 26 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections:
Chapter 2-1 Procedures
- Page 2-1-2 under Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) heading - paragraph language has been revised
Chapter 3-2 Avian Products
- Page 3-2-1 under Introduction heading - NEW Notice table has been added; former #2 in numbered list has been deleted
- Page 3-2-2 - former #2 in numbered list has been deleted
- Page 3-2-7 after Warning table - NEW Notice table has been added; former #2 in numbered list has been deleted
- Table 3-2-7 Edible Eggs and Egg Products from Countries OTHER THAN Canada - (page 1 of 2) NEW footnote #1 reference has been added to the first cell in the second column (And the importation is); FSIS Form 9540-1 language has been revised in first cell in the last column (Then:); NEW footnote #1 has been added to the table
- Table 3-2-8 Fresh, Unfertilized Eggs - (page 1 of 2) NEW footnote #1 reference has been added to the table title; FSIS Form 9540-1 language has been revised in the second cell in the last column (Then:); (page 2 of 2) FSIS Form 9540-1 language has been revised in the first and fourth cells in the last column (Then:); NEW footnote #1 has been added to the table
- Table 3-2-10 Whole Egg Shells - footnote #3 language has been revised
Appendix G Certificates and Forms
- Pages G-1-1 through G-1-3 under Contents heading - NEW AMS Form LPS-222, revised FSIS Form 9540-1, NEW Polish Official Inspection Certificate for Shell Eggs, and NEW Spanish Health certificate for the Exporting of Shell Eggs have been added to the chapter table of contents
- Figure G-1-1 Example of AMS Form LPS-222, Import Request (Shell Eggs) - NEW figure has been added
- Figure G-1-5 Example of FSIS Form 9540-1, Import Inspection Application (Meat, Poultry, and Egg Products) - NEW figure has been added
